The Living DNA team travelled from Somerset to London on Wednesday 21st September to preview the most advanced, high definition personal ancestry DNA service. This has been possible with a team of over 100 people around the globe who have been working on the service over for two years.
The Living DNA events team set up their stand at the ExCel Centre; located in the brain and body area of the hall
Thursday was the first exhibiting day, and as the only ancestry service at the show, we spoke to hundreds of people about the project. The preview launch got everybody excited and we had people coming to our stand from all over the world, searching to find out what Living DNA is all about and what we have to offer in the DNA testing industry.
Our team spoke to a number of people who were very connected to the genetics industry, and seemed excited of the prospect of us expanding into the direct-to-consumer genetics market and being able to break down the world into 80 different regions, including 21 in the UK, features which have never been done before.
Over the course of the four days, we were demonstrating the visualisation of our results platform, which allows you to bring the story of your ancestry to life, giving you the simplest and most-effective way to share where you really come from with family and friends.
We were exclusively selling kits on a pre-launch basis, giving people at the show the opportunity to buy the kit, take their samples on the stand, and be one of the first to have their data run on the Orion chip, made exclusively for Living DNA. This chip tests over 638,000 autosomal SNPs as well as over 21,000 YSNP's and 4,500 mtDNA SNP's.
Over the duration of the show we spoke to a number of different school teachers who were on board with helping to deliver our core message into schools "We Are All Made Up Of All Of Us", working with us to combat race and prove its only ever been socially constructed.
Our time at New Scientist Live was a great experience to preview our product as an opportunity to show customers what Living DNA is all about, with great success in building our brand and raising awareness that we are all genetically connected.
We look forward to our upcoming tour dates with more exclusive offers and opportunities to talk to our team;
