Living DNA is introducing 2 Factor Authentication

Learn more about why Living DNA is introducing 2 Factor Authentication, what you need to do, and how you can help to keep your account safe.

We are enhancing the security of our portal.

In 2024 we will be enhancing the security of the Living DNA portal by introducing 2 step authentication.

We have not released this yet but when we do it will be mandatory, so you will have to set it up to access your portal.

Why are we doing this?

We are confident in our existing security measures, and have yearly audits to ensure that we comply with ISO standards - you can read more about our privacy and security measures here, in our privacy policy.

However, we are always looking for ways to improve further, and keep your data even more secure.

One of the most common security risks for online accounts is a third party - someone that's not you - getting hold of your password.

2 Factor Authentication means that we can be sure that it's you logging in to your account, rather than someone who has managed to guess, steal, or purchase your password from a third party.

So what does this mean?

When you login to your Living DNA portal you will be asked to authorise the request by clicking a link that is sent to your email. This means there will be an additional layer of security to your portal.

If you are not able to access the email address your Living DNA account is registered under our customer service team can help. You can log in to your Living DNA account and change your email address.

What else can you do to keep your account safe?

Your own online security habits are really important as well. One of the best things you can do is ensure you do not reuse passwords across different websites.

Think of your passwords as keys. If someone with nefarious purposes were to get access to a copy of a key that opened a potting shed, you might not worry too much about it.

But if that same key were able to open your front and back doors, start your car, and access your safe and bank accounts as well, there would be a much bigger problem.

If you find balancing multiple passwords difficult, rather than writing them down you could use a password manager to store them for you. This means you only have one password to remember.

Password strength is also key! Using a unique strong password, that does not contain recognisable words and consists of letters, numbers and special characters, is one of the best ways to keep your data safe and secure.
